A DAY AT LUSH COSMETICS

If you don’t know already, I am a Lush Cosmetics lover. If I could try all their bath bombs in one go, I would. Haha. Unfortunately, I still take a bath the Filipino way so I technically don’t use bath tubs at the moment. Aside from being famous with their bath bombs, they are also known for their 100% vegetarian products, all handmade, and definitely cruelty-free. Their bottles are all recycled; no waste at all!

I personally love Lush because of one reason, it cures my oily skin. My forehead, nose, and T-zone area are the worst! I’ve tried so many face masks and moisturizer (night and day) but I still end up oily by the end of the day. So when I discovered Lush last 2015, I did my own mini tour in their shop at Deira City Center (old store) and searched for the best cure for my oily face. I got introduced to Dark AngelsIt literally sucks all the oil on your face but I would suggest not to use it on a daily basis because its charcoal ingredient can possibly dehydrate your skin. Upon discovering that, I paired it with Angels on Bare Skin cleanser which even out skin tones and trust me, it’ll come in handy removing Dark Angels on your face. I’ve had my fair share of my favorite Lush products for the past year and a half — so this time, I’m really excited to share new products with you!

We were invited by Lush Cosmetics Deira City Center, thanks to Nicholo Jallores, for a store tour and review last week and boy, it was bath heaven. If you haven’t visited yet, their store at DCC is now is twice as big as their old one! I missed their opening at Ibn Battuta Mall so I was so happy when I was told about doing a tour along with Ate Nina (@smilelikenina) and Ate Tracy (@beautybytracyley); two iconic lifestyle and beauty bloggers here in the UAE.

There were so many products to choose from. It will feel like you already got what you want but it just never ends. Mind you, I was only focusing on moisturizers and masks, but I was lured to almost buying bath bombs even though I don’t use our bath tub because it just really smells so good! Oh and the benefits to your skin, amazing! They now released a makeup line but sad to say, I’m not a big fan of it. Their lip products are too liquidy plus it doesn’t stay long, so I suggest you skip that part. But, to each his own – so do you. 😅

WHAT’S IN MY GIFT BOX?

My natural instinct was to do an unboxing once I get home, because who can wait when you got a huge Lush goodie bag in hand, right? The last time I got a gift from them was during their Lush City Walk opening and it was all the glittery and pink products. So I was so ecstatic to open this! Without further ado, here we go.

1. No Drought – Dry Shampoo
Ingredients: Cornflour (absorbent) and Grapefruit (invigorating and refreshing)

The only dry shampoo I use is from Beach Born so this one is definitely a must try. I love the scent too — smells like lime! I don’t wash my hair everyday because UAE’s water dries the heck out of it. Dry shampoo is a good alternative for washing the hair and still look fresh at the same time.

2. Maypole Soap
Ingredients: Peppermint oil (cooling and invigorating) and Gardenia extract (orange to yellow color)

It’s so interesting that this soap looks like a painted canvas! They also say that this soap lathers really nicely so I can’t wait to try it especially that summer is in full swing.

3. Love and Light – Hand Cream
Ingredients: Organic Jojoba Oil (moisturizing) and Organic Cocoa Butter (softening and conditioning)

I don’t link my hands greasy so I’m really picky with lotions and hand cream. Given that my day consists of keyboard and pens, greasy hands can’t be an option for me. I tried this out in the store and it surprisingly feels dry but moisturized at the same time. At first, my hands felt sweaty but as it dried out, it brightened my skin. I’ll test it again for few weeks (try it with my feet too) and let’s see how it goes!

4. Gorgeous – Moisturizer
Ingredients: Cold pressed Primrose oil (soothing and moisture retaining) and Fresh pineapple, orange, and lemon juice (cleansing and rejuvenating)

If Khaleesi is the mother of dragons, Gorgeous is the mother of all lush products! This here is just a sample size but the regular packaging 45g costs AED 450. I cryyyy. It’s so good on the skin! Aside from refining pores, it mattifies your skin too! It’s the perfect moisturizer for oily skin aka me. 😭 Gorgeous also feels light on the skin. Too bad, I can’t afford it just yet.

5. Rub Rub Rub – Scrubby Sea Salt and Mimosa Wash
Ingredient: Jasmine Absolute

I’m so happy I got a refill! Haha. This is my current shower scrub because it smells like the sea. It exfoliates my skin and leaves it smooth for the rest of the day. I usually scrub this on my skin for good 10 minutes if I’m not in a rush. You should try it!

6. Bath Bombs

I’m not sure when I’ll get to try these bath bombs but I will surely update you. Watch out for my insta-stories! 📱

That’s it! I love all the products I got and I can’t wait to try them. All of these are new to me so I’m surely rating it and probably include it in my Empty Bottles post soon. I’m still looking forward to buying the full size of Gorgeous and try out Magnificent Magna.

I hope you guys enjoyed this post. Are you a lush user? What are the current products you use? What do you recommend? Let me know in the comments below!
